We commit to providing an inclusive work environment at Schindler, where diverse people feel welcomed to come together as they are to do their best work and to serve the over 2 billion people using our elevators, escalators, and moving walks every day.
Gender matters. We believe strongly that our industry and our organization should reflect the mix of genders in society. Beyond our values, we know that mixed gender teams collaborate better and make better decisions. Through targeted development programs, training on unconscious bias, we are working hard to improve the gender ratio (gender mix) across Jardine Schindler Group. Our I&D Council and local operating companies’ management teams review our progress regularly to make sure we stay on track. The progress on I&D also communicated in Jardine Schindler Group Town Hall by our CEO. Our global equal pay initiative ensures that everyone receives fair pay for their role, no matter what their gender.
We celebrate that there are up to five generations working together at Schindler, offering fantastic opportunities to learn from each other. We encourage every generation to remain open, curious, and ready to learn from others.
Mobility solutions are our business, and our technicians think inclusively every day when installing elevators, escalators, or moving walks. Abilities come in many different packages so, through initiatives like our Valuable 500 commitment, we are working to improve how we recruit and include people with disabilities. Several local programs have already helped increase the number of people with disabilities in our workforce.
We actively work with our inclusion networks for gender, multicultural/ethnicity, generations, diverse ability and mental well being. We have launched a woman inclusion network on and diverse abilities internship across our operating countries.
We do not tolerate discrimination and are proud to do our part to fight biases to help make the world more just for all ethnicities. It is only natural that, as a global organization, we reflect the ethnic diversity found in the places where we operate. One way we do this is to promote international mobility, helping to build teams with diverse nationalities around the world.
We know that our personal lives intersect more and more with our work lives. All of us need to feel safe at work to be able to be our true selves. We encourage all leaders and employees to step up when something is not safe or if someone is not treated with respect.
